***Speed

Listed speeds are available only through Hughes’ new satellite. The majority of subscribers will have access to these faster speeds. However, approximately 3% will not be able to receive these speeds as a result of trees or other obstacles that block the signal from the satellite to the home. In these cases, Hughes can offer slightly slower Internet access via another satellite with download speeds up to 700 Kbps, 1.0 Mbps, and 1.5 Mbps; and upload speeds up to 128 Kbps, 200 Kbps and 200 Kbps for Home, Pro and ProPlus service plans, respectively.

In all cases, actual upload speed will likely be lower than speed indicated during peak hours. See our FAQs for more information on typical speeds. Download speeds may also be temporarily slowed in cases when patterns of system usage exceed the download threshold for an extended period of time. Each email account has 2 GB of storage. The domain of your email addresses will be @Hughes.net. HughesNet email is compatible with any email client that supports Pop3 and SMTP protocols.

⁺30-Day Satisfaction Guarantee

Hughes offers a 30-Day Satisfaction Guarantee. We want you to be happy with your HughesNet service. If you are not completely satisfied, you may cancel your service within 30 days of activation. Installation charges are not refundable. If you are on the $0 Upfront Plan, you will incur a $400 equipment and installation fee.

If you cancel after 30 days and are on the Upfront Payment option, there is a $400 service termination fee. If you are on the $0 Upfront Plan, there is a $400 equipment and installation fee, and a $400 service termination fee. For both the Upfront Payment option and the $0 Upfront Plan, you may return your HughesNet modem and radio (transmitter) to receive a refund of $200. The HughesNet modem and radio must be returned to Hughes, in good condition, within 60 days of cancelling your service in order to receive the equipment refund. Hughes will provide instructions on how to de-install and return your equipment. You are not required to return, and Hughes is not obligated to de-install or pay for the de-installation of the antenna, mount or any cables.
